Lionel Messi has concerns about his latest injury ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, as fellow Argentine strikers Paulo Dybala and Angel Di Maria are also doubts.

The Argentine himself has missed PSG’s last two games with a muscle strain and will be desperate to play in a World Cup he recently revealed will be his last.
The 35-year-old came very close to winning the tournament in 2014 but ultimately lost out to Germany after a stoppage-time goal from Mario Gotze in the final.
He is now worried the cold weather could affect the number of injuries. He told DirecTV: “Injuries are a concern. This is a different World Cup played at a different time of the year to previous tournaments and it’s so close any little thing that happens to you can force you to leave.”

“With what happened with Dybala and Di Maria, the truth is that you personally worry and fear more when you see things like this.”
Di Maria’s muscle injury is not as bad as first thought and he is expected to play in the tournament, but Dybala remains a serious doubt due to a quadricep problem.
Messi continued: “It’s something you think about, but I feel that going out to play with that in your head can also be contradictory.”

“The best thing you can do is perform normally and play your game as you always do.”
“I hope that Di Maria and Dybala will recover in time. They have enough time to do this and reach the tournament in good shape”, added the seven-time Golden Ball winner.
