An Argentinian journalist broke down in tears as he confessed that his “dream” of interviewing Lionel Messi had come true.

Argentine TV personality Pablo Giralt, 48, was given the chance to speak with one of the greatest soccer players of all time this week for DirecTV Sports — and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

Speaking to Messi, who spoke about Argentina’s World Cup chances, an emotional Giralt broke down in tears as he joined the former Barcelona striker on the sofa.

“I dreamed of doing this all my life, but I never thought that I would be lucky enough to be able to accompany you with my story, with my love. I thank you with all my heart”, said Giralt.

Messi was clearly surprised by the comments. He leaned back on the sofa and smiled before finally comforting Giralti by touching his hand.

“Thank you very much. I am excited to reach such people. There are many people in Argentina or in general in the world who always support me, admire me, from football and from what I am as a person. I am grateful for the love I receive”, Messi replied after a few seconds.

The footage has gone viral online, with fans commenting on Messi’s ‘humble’ reaction to the Argentinian journalist’s outburst.
