Former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he recommended midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni to Barcelona before the Frenchman moved to rivals Real Madrid.

In an interview with Fichajes.com , Fabregas has revealed that when Barcelona began the process of looking for a long-term successor to Sergio Busquets, he told them about Tchouamen, who he played with at Monaco.

“I spoke to Barca because they were looking for a replacement for Busquets. I talked about Aurelia with Barca. They wanted to start preparing for the successor of Sergio Busquets and for me he was the perfect player”, said Fabregas first.

As a result, Real Madrid made the move for the French star, in a deal worth double what Barcelona could afford.
