Phil Foden has been said to have the potential to be a better player than Lionel Messi.
The 22-year-old scored England’s third goal in Tuesday’s 3-0 World Cup win over Wales to seal qualification from top spot in Group B.
It was Foden’s first start of the tournament, with fans eager to see Gareth Southgate give him a chance.

Foden came off the bench in a 6-2 win over Iran but sat on the bench for the entire game in the subsequent 0-0 draw with the USA.
Since his debut in 2017, Foden has won four Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups, the FA Cup and reached the Champions League final.
On the international stage, he was part of the England squad that reached the final of last summer’s European Championship.
He is arguably the most talented Englishman at the moment and one pundit took him to the next level during a recent appearance on Sky Sports News .

“I say that boy is the new Messi. Has more potential than Lionel Messi. Balance, center of gravity, consciousness. You have to be born with this.”
“The coaches just have to instruct him not to spend his money on cars. Spend on properties, for his parents”.
“Forget the fake life. That was my advice to him. I spoke with his father and him”, said the English expert.
When asked if Foden could be the best player in the world, he replied: “Yes! The trophy is coming to England and he will also bring the trophy.”
