Ronald Koeman, former coach of Barcelona and ready to return to the management of the Dutch national team team after the World Cup, gave an interview to Marca.
The coach has commented on the World Cup in Qatar with great attention and has stopped in a special way on Spain, which, in his opinion, thanks to its game, remains one of the favorites to win.
“As it almost always happens, now the World Cup matches with the knockout phase will become more exciting. Some of the results that surprised me, I believe, came from the intensity of the game and the physical condition of the players”, said Koeman.

“Spain, until the moment of defeat with Japan, has been the one that has played the best football among all of course. I believe that despite the loss to Japan, it is one of the favorites along with France and Brazil.”The credit goes to Luis Enrique, who has created a great team game with the youngsters. He has stayed true to his philosophy with these guys and that should be recognized.”

There was also a comment about his Netherlands: “They have shown that they are a strong and solid team. Of course, the game needs to improve, but the fact that they are solid and concede few goals helps.
“Withouta doubt the matches will become more difficult moving forward in the World Cup. De Jong? I know it can be improved, but it is an essential element of the team”, concluded Koeman.
