Cristiano Ronaldo was activated in the 51st minute of the match that saw Portugal eliminated from the World Cup. Youssef En-Nesyri scored the winning goal for Morocco three minutes before the end of the first half
This World Cup has been problematic for Cristiano Ronaldo, seeing as it started with a sensational interview in which he openly attacked Manchester United.
The Red Devils then sacked the Portuguese before the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s problems continued with his national team. CR7, in fact, started the last 16 match against Switzerland from the bench afterwards complaining about his substitution in the last group game against South Korea.
Subsequent reports said the Portugal captain had threatened to leave Qatar, but the Portuguese Football Federation denied that had happened.
The situation worsened this evening after Portugal’s shock elimination against Morocco, with Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the pitch in tears.
